The InStride Riding Academy at InStride Equestrian Center is a hands-on horse handling and riding lesson program, teaching the foundations of Classical Horsemanship and Classical Riding. Utilizing the framework and established lesson plans of the United States Pony Club, Classical Dressage, Centered Riding, USEF, (United States Equestrian Federation), the USDF, (United States Dressage Federation) and other sources, students will proceed “up the levels” taking regular, weekly, or bi-weekly lessons in groups, privately or semi-privately, and may participate in events, clinics, competitions, and workshops.
The Classical Horsemanship component is given equal importance to a Classical Riding Component. InStride Riding Academy strives to educate and develop compassionate and skilled horse people to become life-long advocates of horses who keep equine stewardship as a top priority.
Classical Horsemanship and Classical Riding develop essential life skills by promoting communication, inquiry, precision, critical thinking, planning, organization, memory, balance, collaboration, flexibility, strength, gentleness, resourcefulness, and empathy. Building such expertise increases confidence and compassion and offers vast physical and mental benefits promoting wellness for both horse and rider.
The suitability of horse-rider pairings, knowledgeable teachers, and the selection of appropriate recreational and educational activities will be chosen to support, motivate and challenge the abilities of students, promoting growth and development of expertise over time while maintaining the wellness and the proper condition of the horses.
