Parent/Caregiver Resources
Living in the world of a disability can often feel lonely and isolating. Parents who come to InStride find an instant network of others who have children with disabilities and opportunities are boundless. It could be making an appointment to meet with a therapist to review the goals and plans for a rider or becoming a volunteer and getting involved with the “behind-the-scenes” activities of InStride. Workshops and other opportunities are also available to parents; and notices of upcoming activities are posted on the bulletin board in the family resource center as well as the main offices and therapy room.
Another important educational resource for parents and caregivers is the InStride Therapy library which is located in the Family Resource Center, it has of books, publications and videos relevant to therapeutic riding, disabilities, horses and much more.
Parents are treasured resources at InStride Therapy. They are invaluable as members of our Board of Directors, as well as in day-to-day interactions with our therapists and volunteers. InStride is a place where parents can have a break (albeit brief) from the home routine.
